The round wire spiral is the classic variant of the guide sheath in the actuating hoists.
It is wound from round wire and can thus combine the elastic properties of a spring with the guiding functions of the spiral for certain applications, depending on the makeup.
Due to the round cross-section of the wire, the round wire spiral has a very homogeneous bending behavior and only punctual points of contact with the medium being passed through, which positively influences the internal friction in systems without plastic lining. For this reason, the round wire spiral is frequently used as a welding wire guide spiral, among other applications.
The optional plastic coating increases the transverse pressure stiffness of the spiral and protects against corrosion and contamination.
